Preserving Precious Memories

With the success of the 2024 debutante exhibition, Live Lovely for Excellence: The Rosa T. Beard Debutante Club, the Lucy C. Laney Museum, in partnership with the Rosa T. Beard Debutante Club is excited to expand the exhibition in 2025. The new exhibition, open March through June, will go beyond the museum to the Georgia Heritage Room of the Augusta-Richmond County Public Library System.

The exhibition team includes club CEO, Rev. Cheryl Beard; Lucy C. Laney Museum Director, Corey Rogers; the museum’s Programs Manager, Toni Dean; and guest Curator, Noel Corbin of the University of Georgia. Check the museum and debutante club’s websites and social media for more information.

On Saturday, June 21st at 1:30 pm, the Georgia Room of the Augusta Public Library will host a special preservation program, titled Preserving Precious Memories presented by Noel Corbin, curator of the Rosa T. Beard Debutante Club exhibition. Ms. Corbin is a doctoral student at the University of Georgia, studying fashion with a focus on history and culture.
